The Xin'anjiang brand ZJC series Roots vacuum pump is a positive displacement vacuum pump. It operates using a pair of figure-8-shaped rotors that maintain a specific clearance within the pump housing, rotating at equal speeds in opposite directions to achieve suction and exhaust.
The primary advantage of the ZJC Roots vacuum pump is its high pumping speed at low inlet pressures. However, it cannot operate independently and must be connected in series with a backing vacuum pump. The Roots vacuum pump can only start working once the pressure in the system being evacuated has been reduced by the backing pump to within the allowable inlet pressure range of the Roots pump. Moreover, under normal circumstances, the Roots vacuum pump is not permitted to operate under high pressure differentials, as this may cause overload and overheating, leading to damage. Therefore, when using a Roots vacuum pump, it is essential to appropriately select a backing vacuum pump and install necessary protective equipment. It is particularly important to note that when the Roots pump has undergone anti-corrosion treatment, using a water jet vacuum pump or an anti-corrosion water ring vacuum pump as the backing pump allows for the extraction of corrosive gases containing large amounts of water vapor.
